I've been wondering what I can talk about that's seperate from Karmen. You know...all my own...I think I have it.
I've been in our area Big Brother/Big Sister program for over a year now, and I have a "little brother." His name is Clayton, and he's 13. I met him when he was 11.
With impending "daddy-dom," I've been noticing the things I'll need to have as a father, like energy...energy...and more energy!
I know a 13 year old boy is not a baby girl...but there are things I'm learning, like...do what you say you're gonna do, watch how much you spoil (I fail) and don't be afraid to give correction when needed.
I could've sworn this program is for me to mentor Clayton. How did it get the other way around?
Clayton's real excited to meet his "little sister." He says I'm like a father to him, and that blesses me very much. Clayton and I have really become good friends. We'll have a great time making the baby a little tomboy!
AND WON'T KARMEN JUST LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
